Jackie Shaw's Step-By-Step Painting Course: A Beginner's Guide to Color and Composition

In her latest book, Jackie Shaw, artist and best-selling author of the hugely successful The Big Book of Decorative Painting, takes readers to the next logical step in learning to paint.

Jackie Shaw’s Complete Painting Course provides readers with all the tested tools and techniques they need to create dynamic, original compositions of their own. The book begins with a thorough review of all the basics: materials and supplies, color theory and mixing, and design and composition. Then, it goes one step further, providing an array of interesting exercises and unique activities designed to inspire creative expression and prompt new artists to think “out of the box.”

Unlike The Big Book of Decorative Painting, which focuses on creating specific projects within three skill levels, Jackie Shaw’s Complete Painting Course presents over 50 all-new fruit, vegetable, and flower designs, all supported by inspiring, full-color reference photos to add greater understanding of the subject. In addition, dozens of ready-to-use worksheets present detailed breakdowns of each motif, along with full-size shaded patterns to make getting started easy.

With clear instruction, surefire strategies, and more than 500 full-color illustrations, this valuable reference empowers artists of all levels to take their creativity and imagination to new, inspiring heights.
