In need of a ship when the Jolly Roger gets beached, Captain Hook “borrows” Jake’s pirate ship BUCKY --- not realizing that Bucky is alive! With help from Jake’s crew and the reader, Bucky defends himself against Hook, sending the crazed captain back to his own ship thinking he's lost his mind! About the Author

Melinda LaRose is a freelance children’s media writer. On the television side, Melinda has written for the Emmy Award-winning series, The Wonder Pets! on Nick Jr., 3rd & Bird on Disney Junior, Dino Dan, Oobi! and Piper O’Possum, among others. For seven years Melinda served as an in-house writer and story editor at Little Airplane Productions and has worked on developing preschool series with Brazil’s TV PinGuim and Moonscoop’s AvaRiko Teo. Melinda has also written a number of children’s books including manuscripts for Disney Publishing based on the hit series Jake and the Never Land Pirates and Jungle Junction and WonderPets books for Simon & Schuster’s Ready-to-Read series. Melinda’s first e-book has just been released as part of the Lazoo “Squiggles” app and she is writing interactive manuscripts for Speakaboos.com. Melinda got her start in children’s media as the host of “The Playground” on Boston’s WERS-FM.
