First English Edition. 275pp., grey fine diagonal ribbed cloth, stamped in gilt and black, bevelled boards. Nice copy; bookplate of the Dickens collector Samuel T. Mills and a tipped-in leaf of Dickens references in his hand. The life of America's foremost publisher written annonymously by his widow, with memorial poems by Whittier and Longfellow and the first printing of letters from dozens of authors from both sides of the Atlantic.
