Octavo (22cm). Maroon cloth titled in gilt, top edge gilt; grey coated endpapers; [vi],285,[1]pp. Straight, lightly rubbed, with one or two small scuffs and spots to cloth, internally clean: Very Good. Fields was the junior partner and literary expert for Ticknor and Fields, and ran noted literary salons. The first printing appeared in 1881; this 1882 reprint was the first to contain the index. See BAL 5987.
