James Whitcomb Riley: Hoosier Boy [The Childhood of Famous Americans Series]

Orange and black cloth with black lettering and decoration in illustrated jacket. Publisher ephemera laid in—a bookplate from the James Whitcomb Riley Shrine and two tickets for entrance to the museum. Clean copy of this title in the redesigned dust jacket for the series. Edition not stated, later printing with copyright dates of 1942, 1962. A trace of wear to boards, the dust jacket is price-clipped and has a bit of rubbing along the spine. Protected now in an archival Mylar sleeve. 200 pages with two-tone illustrations by Kathleen Elgin. This style marked a mid-century, updated look from the silhouette illustrations used 1932-1959 for the series. Other titles in the series are printed on the front and rear endpapers.
