About the Author

Robert J. Kane is Professor and Director of the Criminal Justice Program at Drexel University in Philadelphia. Kane has conducted field research in New York City, Philadelphia, and Washington, DC; and he has worked with justice authorities in England, Ireland, and the Netherlands. Among multiple social scientific articles, chapters, and reviews, Kane is the co-editor of the forthcoming book, The Oxford Handbook on Police and Policing (Oxford University Press). Kane holds a doctorate from Temple University.
