JavaScript Mastery in Visual Studio 2026, Second Edition is a complete beginner-to-advanced guide for students, self-learners, educators, and developers who want to master modern JavaScript through clear explanations, practical examples, screenshots, and real-world projects.
JavaScript has grown far beyond simple webpage scripting. Today it powers interactive websites, APIs, server-side applications, development tools, data processing, graphics, and modern web applications. This book takes you step by step from the fundamentals to more advanced JavaScript development using Visual Studio 2026.
You will begin with variables, operators, control flow, functions, arrays, objects, strings, and loops. You will then progress to DOM manipulation, events, error handling, closures, higher-order functions, modern ES6+ features, classes, prototypes, Promises, async/await, REST APIs, JSON, ES Modules, browser storage, regular expressions, dates and times, Canvas graphics, Node.js, npm, testing, debugging, and profiling.
The Second Edition has been extensively revised and expanded with more complete applications, improved explanations, and many screenshots that show important development steps, program output, interfaces, and project results.
Inside this book, you will learn how to:
-
write modern JavaScript with confidence
-
build interactive webpages using the DOM and events
-
validate forms and process user input
-
work with arrays, objects, strings, and higher-order functions
-
use classes, inheritance, prototypes, and closures
-
write asynchronous code with Promises and async/await
-
communicate with REST APIs using the Fetch API
-
work with JSON and browser storage
-
organize applications with ES Modules
-
create graphics and animations with HTML5 Canvas
-
build server-side programs with Node.js
-
manage packages and scripts with npm
-
write automated tests
-
debug and profile JavaScript applications
-
apply modern JavaScript techniques in practical projects
A major feature of this edition is its strong hands-on approach. Many screenshots are included throughout the book to help readers follow the development process visually and compare their own results with the examples shown.
The book also provides GitHub source code for the programming examples and projects, allowing you to download, run, modify, and experiment with the code yourself.
Selected projects are available as live webpages, so you can see completed applications running directly in a browser before exploring or modifying the source code.
The book includes practical examples such as interactive dashboards, form-validation systems, persistent shopping carts, REST API clients, modular student applications, asynchronous data loaders, Canvas animations, Node.js file-processing programs, and more.
Whether you are learning JavaScript for the first time, preparing for modern web development, teaching programming, or updating your skills, JavaScript Mastery in Visual Studio 2026, Second Edition provides a structured, visual, and hands-on path from the basics to modern JavaScript application development.
Learn the fundamentals. Follow the screenshots. Run the source code. Explore live projects. Build real JavaScript applications.

Store description
We first started out as “The Paperback Exchange,” a chain of physical bookstores where we would part exchange your beloved books for new stories to transport you to faraway places. However, as shopping started to evolve to online shops and marketplaces, we bid our stores goodbye to become “PBShop.” This transition has only allowed us to blossom as we now ship thousands of titles to book lovers across the globe. We pride ourselves in being a community of local book lovers which allows our passion and devotion to shine in everything we do. In 2020 we not only celebrated our 20th birthday but our 1st birthday as being completely employee owned after becoming an E.O.T in September 2019. We are proud to be different and embrace standing apart on a book mountain by working from a virtual inventory which allows us to provide thousands of books that may be difficult to get for your bookshelf or your studies. Working with a number of different suppliers allows us to explore other avenues such as puzzles, sheet music and even stationery so we really do have something for everyone. Life is about being versatile in all realms of existence. If this is your first visit or you are a returning customer, we would like to welcome you to the PBShop family, for there is no friend as loyal as a book. We are a company who put our customers at the centre of everything we do as we understand the importance of reading because once you learn to read, you will forever be free. There are a whole lot of things in this world of ours that we are yet to explore, which is why we will forever inspire curious minds.…
