Jeb Stuart

This biography by Marine Corps officer and writer John W. Thomason Jr. traces the life and military career of James Ewell Brown Stuart, the Confederate cavalry commander known for his daring reconnaissance and raids during the Civil War. Originally published in 1930 and reissued by the University of Nebraska Press in 1994 with a new introduction by historian Gary W. Gallagher, the work follows Stuart from his Virginia upbringing and West Point education through his frontier service against the Apaches and Comanches to his role as the eyes of Robert E.
