About the Author

Artiste incontournable de la fin du XXe siècle et de ce début de XXIe siècle, Jeff Koons (né en 1955 aux États-Unis) puise son inspiration dans le quotidien, dans des objets banals, familiers, issus bien souvent de la culture américaine. Cet intérêt pour l’objet usuel fait de la rencontre entre l’artiste et la collection du Mucem un terrain de jeu parfait. Grâce au prêt exceptionnel de 20 oeuvres issues de la Collection Pinault, c’est une véritable plongée dans le travail de l’artiste, jalonnée par ses oeuvres phares, sculptures (comme Balloon Dog, 1994-2000 ou Lobster, 2007-2012), et peintures (comme Backyard, 2002, ou Dutch Couple, 2007) qui est proposée.
