Bound in full Easton Press leather with gilt titles, all edges gilt, ribbon markers, silk endpapers, printed on archival quality paper, printed and bound in the United States of America. The Easton Press edition of Dumas Malone's biography of Thomas Jefferson, originally published by Little, Brown & Co. during 1948-1981. Note Condition: Very good set, bindings and contents clean and unmarked. The set's individual titles are I: Jefferson and the Virginian; II: Jefferson and the Rights of Man; III: Jefferson and the Ordeal of Liberty; IV: Jefferson the President (First Term, 1801-1805); V: Jefferson the President (Second Term, 1805-1809); VI: The Sage of Monticello. Dumas Malone (1892-1986) led a distinguished career in academia and in publishing. A Pulitzer Prize winning historian, toward the end of his career Malone served as the Thomas Jefferson Foundation Professor of History at the University of Virginia.
