1963 wurde zwischen Deutschland und Marokko ein Anwerbeabkommen vereinbart. Aus der „vor�bergehenden Besch�ftigung“ marokkanischer „Gastarbeiter“ ist l�ngst eine vielschichtige Einwanderungsgeschichte geworden. Den fr�hen Bergwerksarbeitern folgten bald Frauen und Kinder, sp�ter auch hoch qualifizierte Bildungsmigranten. In der zweiten und dritten Generation fanden teilweise erfolgreiche Aufstiege statt. Diese Prozesse trugen dazu bei, dass die Gruppe der marokkanischen Migranten und ihrer Nachkommen heute �hnlich heterogen wie die Migrationsgesellschaft insgesamt ist.

Der Band widmet sich der Migration und Integration dieser bisher kaum beachteten Gruppe. Die interdisziplin�re Bestandsaufnahme geht aus einer Kooperation des Deutsch-Marokkanischen Kompetenznetzwerks (DMK) mit dem Institut f�r Migrationsforschung und Interkulturelle Studien (IMIS) der Universit�t Osnabr�ck hervor.

Dr. Khatima Bouras-Ostmann ist Sprachwissenschaftlerin am Seminar f�r Orientalistik und Islamwissenschaft der Ruhr-Universit�t Bochum.

Prof. Dr. Rahim Hajji ist Soziologe und lehrt am Fachbereich Sozial- und Gesundheitswesen an der Hochschule Magdeburg-Stendal.
