Students from several schools have contributed ideas for the stories. Mr. Perlet has also published another series: Adventures with Grandpa Ek. There are two volumes in this series, one about Washington, D.C. and the other about Annapolis. A third volume is planned for the spring of 2015 about Baltimore.
