Synopsis
Zoe, George, Annie, and Nate stood shoulder to shoulder with their white farmhouse behind them and the mountain behind the house. They faced a swirling black cloud of fog headed right for them. There were flashes of lightning inside the fog. The wind was getting stronger and the noise was deafening. Zoe yelled, “Are we ready for this?” The twins responded “Yeah! Let’s do it!” George yelled above the howling wind, “On my count, we begin Operation Save the Dragon!” The children raised their hands and waited. “Ready! One….Two….Three….” What is going on here? How did the children get into this situation? What is that swirling black fog? What has happened? Find out what Zoe, George, Annie, and Nate must do to save the dragon from a terrible spell cast by the evil Professor Grimmstone. The children learn more about their magical fairy powers, and the dragon finally begins to unravel the mysteries of his own dragon family.
About the Author
Jerry Perlet has retired from teaching after 38 years in the Montgomery County Public School system in Maryland. He is enjoying writing stories for children and adults. Jerry Perlet’s Dragon Stories, volumes 1 thru 4 are a compilation of many years of storytelling about the dragon who lives on the mountain and befriends the children. The first dragon story was told to a group of students at Monocacy Elementary School in Montgomery County, Maryland as they waited for a late bus. The setting comes from Sugarloaf Mountain and the many farm houses in the area. Students at Monocacy and Sherwood Elementary Schools contributed many ideas to the stories. The stories tell of the children’s adventures with a friendly magical dragon. Children learn many lessons about loyalty, friendship, problem-solving, following directions, and enjoying childhood.
