Add to basketA smart reprint of H. Rider Haggard's highly successful novel Jess, set in South Africa. Reprinted, originally published 1887. A romantic adventure novel set in South Africa, following Jess Croft, an orphan living on an ostrich farm on the Great Transvaal Veldt. When Englishman Captain John Niel arrives to try his hand at farming, they are drawn together and torn apart. Written by Sir Henry Rider Haggard, an English writer best known for his adventure romances set in exotic locations. In the original blue cloth binding. Externally, very smart with minor wear to the extremities. Original unclipped dust wrapper is sound with chipping to the extremities and light loss to the front panel. The odd small closed tear and light sunning to the spine. The odd small mark to the panels. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean. Contemporary ink inscription to the front endpaper. Very Good.
