Pensees Bookshop (Est. 1999) is a full service antiquarian bookstore located in the Courthouse Square in Charleston, IL. We have two levels with over 40,000 titles covering virtually all genres with a particular focus on Americana and Western Americana. We also offer book/document restoration services (and in some cases, re-binding) When possible we try to use materials that match the period in which the book was originally created so that the alterations are as non discrete as possible. We are always interested in buying books, historical documents, movie memorabilia and misc. artifacts as well as other items of historical significance such as art, letters, diaries, maps and military-related pieces.

We accept checks, money orders, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, Pay Pal, and ABE-Commerce.
Illinois residents please add 6.75% sales tax. Refunds will only be granted if it
was determined that the book that you received was "not as described". For
example, if we listed the book as "VG" and failed to note that there was
underlining in it then we will gladly issue a refund. If you have any doubts as
to the condition of the book and/or it's contents then please e-mail us and we
