My Jesus, Pure and Simple

The author explores Jesus’ words and deeds from a perspective rarely found in traditional Bible studies. His aim is to reveal the essential Jesus, the Jesus he believes is obscured by layers of arcane doctrines, uncertain traditions, misconceptions, and even errors. In his search for the essential Jesus he explores challenging questions such as: Who is God? Is the Bible the word of God? Is there a purpose to God’s creation? Who is Jesus? Was he fully human? Was he God in the flesh or was he the son of God?His quest reveals Jesus’ humanity in surprising ways and draws a stark contrast between the God portrayed in the Old Testament and the God that shines through Jesus Christ. His earnest hope is that the simple portrait of Jesus he draws will reaffirm the faith of those who believe in him, and persuade some who harbor doubts about his true nature to open their minds and hearts and accept him as friend, counselor, and savior.
