Just Like the Jetsons and Other Stories (Paperback or Softback)

The future rarely turns out the way anyone expects. Collected here for the first time are seventeen imaginative stories by World Fantasy and Hugo Award nominee Warren Lapine, ranging across science fiction, fantasy, and the strange territories between them.

These stories explore transformed worlds, unfamiliar technologies, human ambitions, and the unexpected consequences of seemingly ordinary choices. Some look toward futures that are exhilarating or absurd; others reveal the danger, wonder, and darkness concealed beneath everyday life. Throughout the collection, Lapine combines speculative ideas with sharp characterization, humor, suspense, and an enduring fascination with how people respond when reality no longer obeys familiar rules.

Diverse in setting, tone, and subject, Just Like the Jetsons and Other Stories offers seventeen journeys into worlds both distant and uncomfortably close to our own. This collection introduces readers to the fiction of a writer and editor who has spent decades exploring the possibilities of speculative literature.
