The purpose of this textbook is primarily to assist both students and experienced practitioners of acupuncture and other related therapies such as shiatsu to locate acupuncture points. As practitioners, we tend to have a repertoire of 'favourite' points, often developed through familiarity because we know how to locate them. There may also be points we avoid using simply because we are unsure of their location. There are many traditions of acupuncture around the world, and these often include particular models of point location. The fact that certain locations differ between various traditions does not imply they are mutually exclusive. This textbook is designed to promote research into the locations for each point. The locations described in this textbook do not imply any denigration of other traditions, or other point locations, many of which may be valid doorways to the qi. This textbook is designed to provide a guide, using clear step by step tips, to accurately locate all the main channel points of the body. The author, Dean Lander is a UK based Acupuncture Master practitioner. He practices the Five Elements style of Traditional Acupuncture. This book was published by The College of Traditional Acupuncture in Hatton, Warwick where Dean was a teaching faculty member (1994-2012) as well as the Head of Clinical Studies (2008-2012). The point location descriptions in this textbook are from Bronze Man identifications, used widely by many practitioners in The Five Elements and TCM.
