A true story of the author's time and travels in the Transvaal region of South Africa in the 1880's with his dog, Jock. Jock takes center stage in this account. Original green cloth covers, gilt spine lettering and decoration, with a bit of edgewear, some rubbing to rear cover and a paint spot on rear as well. Color illustration of Jock as frontis with tissue guard. Each page has charming black and white marginal illustrations.
