Patricia Hall has written and lectured extensively on Johnny Gruelle and his contributions to American culture. Many of these photographs appear in Raggedy Ann and More: Johnny Gruelle’s Dolls and Merchandise. Hall has also written an illustrated biography, Johnny Gruelle, Creator of Raggedy Ann and Andy, published by Pelican.
