About the Author: Wayétu Moore received her BA in journalism from Howard University, and her MA in Creative Writing from the University of Southern California. She is the former publisher and editor of The Coup Magazine, a literary publication with the goal of unifying women of color through social awareness and political consciousness. She was also the recipient of the Mimi Bresler Fellowship to attend the New York State Writer's Institute at Skidmore College in 2009. She is currently the publisher and co-founder of One Moore Book, a publishing company that produces culturally sensitive and educational stories that highlight the lives of children of countries with significantly low literacy rates.
