Journal of an ADHD Kid

Written by a real kid learning to understand himself and his ADHD, this book explains what ADHD is and the everyday experiences a kid that has ADHD encounters. Written in a personal journal format, it describes how kids diagnosed with ADHD can help themselves succeed in school, get along better at home, and enjoy quality relationships. Because it is written by a "real kid with ADHD" it is written in a kid-friendly language that any reluctant or easily-distracted reader can enjoy as well as respond to with their own pen. This journal invites the reader to respond to the short chapters by providing thought provoking questions and space to journal themselves. This interactive element makes this an excellent resource for parents, therapists and counselors to use with boys and girls diagnosed with ADHD. This book helps kids to know that they are not alone. It offers practical advice and strategies for living with ADHD, modifying behavior, succeeding in school, having fun, working with doctors, counselors, and dealing with taking medication. It is based on the author's real life experiences as a kid with ADHD.

Tobias Stumpf enjoys playing percussion and guitar, golfing, snowboarding and being a "normal" kid. He was diagnosed with ADHD in the 2nd grade. He found that by sharing his experience, he wasn't alone and feels that more kids should be encouraged to talk about their experiences, challenges and successes! He hopes to keep the conversation going and has started a Facebook page, JOURNAL OF AN ADHD KID where people can send messages.
