1913-1918 Journal of the American Institute of Architects - Six Volumes, Published Monthly by The American Institute of Architects, Harrisburg, PA & The Octagon, Washington, D.C., half leather, 12 x 9 , 4to. In good condition. Overall lightly worn and seemingly unopened. Volume V & VI have shaken gutters, bindings are weakened towards front of text block. Light wear to extremities with minor scuffing to corners and end bands. Light abrasions to boards, but overall good. Volume one is tan buckram while others are crimson. Volume one also has all marbled edges. Stamp of Maurice Robert Des Marais on front end pastedown of volume one. Des Marais was a longtime faculty member in the Department of Architecture at Penn State College of Arts and Architecture and a corporate member of the American Institute of Architects. Bindings are all intact. Free of known markings. A solid, attractive set. Please see photos. Journal of the American Institute of Architects was an architecture journal published in the 20th century by the American Institute of Architects (AIA). Journal of the American Institute of Architects began in 1913, replacing the AIA's previous "Quarterly Bulletin". The journal ran until 1928, replaced the next year by "The Octagon", which then reclaimed the "Journal of the American Institute of Architects" name in 1944.
