The journal records the period of Goodenough's last command as Senior Officer on the Australian Station, 1873-75. The author's tour took him throughout the South Pacific, visiting Fiji, New South Wales & Tasmania. He unveiled the Cook monument in Sydney in 1876. 8vo, 369pp, 31pp ads dated October 1876, maps in text, 2 folding maps in rear pocket. In the original navy gilt decorative cloth bright with faint mark on back board, inner hinge of endpapers cracked but sturdy, overall a pleasant copy. Ferguson 9978.
