About this Item

In as-is condition. Modern spine has been nicely redone with rebacked original leather boards. Boards exhibit wear and light scuffing from shelf wear. Jospeh Haines old hand signature and Mary A. Moore to Lisle (?) Elizabeth in old hand below on front fly leaf. Interior typically toned with light foxing. Free of known marginalia. Printing error in page numbers starting at page 593. pages 433 to 448 were duplicated. Missing pages 593 to 608 as a result. Binding tight and intact. Please see photos. 1st edition. John Comly, a Quaker minister and school master, was born in 1773. He married Rebecca Budd, a fellow teacher at the Westtown School, in 1803. They operated the Pleasant Hill Boarding School on their Byberry farm from 1804-1815.
