The Journal of Medical Research, Vol. 15: July to December, 1906 (Classic Reprint)

This book investigates the subject of particle absorption from the peritoneal cavity of guinea pigs, delving into various aspects of this process. The author first examines the peritoneal fluid, finding that leukocytes and macrophages are responsible for absorbing particles and transporting them away, leading to questions about the fate of these particles. The author then examines the subject of particle absorption from the peritoneal cavity by analyzing the presence and amounts of particles in the organs of the guinea pigs, revealing the migration of particles to the liver and spleen, as well as the decrease in particle count over time. The author also discusses the implications of their findings on the understanding of particle absorption and the fate of foreign particles in the body, offering insights into the mechanisms involved in the disposal of extraneous substances.
