In good condition. Original boards are typically worn with light scuffing, edge wear. Rounded corners and light rubbing to hinges. Surface scratching. Spine missing original label. Old hand signature of Joseph White dated 1817 on title page. Interior has minor toning with light foxing and old staining. Free of known marginalia. Binding tight and intact. Please see photos. 1st edition. Chalkley was a Quaker mariner and missionary preacher of Welsh origin. This journal was widely read by many generations of Quakers.
