Perhaps Joy is the Reward

What would happen if you were presented with a new, never-imagined path for your life? A path that would require you to do things you never dreamt you were capable of doing. … If you took that path, could it change you forever?

Perhaps Joy is the Reward is the fast-paced story of a non-athlete who, through a series of unanticipated events, made his way from the sofa to the athletic world of mountain ultramarathons (in his fifties!) where he discovered unknown strength, untapped personal resilience, and depth of community.

Writing for a broad audience, author and ultrarunner Randy Klassen reveals, through a decade’s worth of adventurous stories and harrowing tales, how mental change and physical and personal growth occurred when he stepped up to try something utterly new, challenging, and unforeseen.

It’s a book that will inspire readers to look beyond what they’re doing today and ask, “What could be next for me? What unplanned trail can I take? Who will I become if I take that chance? What will I learn about myself? Can joy be found in doing hard things? And if so, how, and with whom?”

Perhaps Joy is the Reward will take you on a physical and mental journey Randy never saw coming.
