Jump, Jog, Leapfrog : Fun with Action Words

Imaginary, adventurous, and real settings draw children into these engaging displays of active verbs. A rich, picture-book format with vibrant, energetic illustrations and simple, engaging text humorously depicts characters doing the actions described by the different verbs, from jumping and jogging to slipping, sliding, gliding, and twirling. Each page spread features a setting—such as a witch’s lair and the deep blue sea—along with a series of sentences highlighting the verbs that describe actions the children and animal characters perform in the story. A reference at the end of the book provides a helpful list of verbs organized by action category.
