Jumping Into Cheer (Paperback or Softback)

What if the one thing you never considered was exactly where you belonged?

When nine-year-old Carter stumbles across a cheerleading team flipping and soaring at the local carnival, he’s instantly captivated. He’s never seen anything like it—and he’s definitely never imagined himself doing it. After all, boys don’t do cheerleading… do they?

With a mix of nerves, curiosity, and a little nudge from Mum, Carter takes a leap—literally—into a trial class at the local all-star cheer gym. What follows is a journey packed with tumbles, triumphs, and new teammates who quickly become like family.

From wobbly cartwheels and stunting fails to confidence-boosting wins and real friendships, Carter discovers that cheerleading isn’t just about sparkles and pom-poms. It’s about strength, resilience, teamwork, and finding what lights you up inside.

Jumping Into Cheer is a heartwarming, high-energy story for readers aged 5–8 that celebrates trying something new, challenging gender stereotypes, and being brave enough to be yourself. It’s perfect for fans of action-packed sports stories, stories about confidence and inclusion, and any young reader who’s still looking for their thing.
