About the Author

Laura Stratton Friel is a lifelong resident of Utah, where she has a deep historical heritage. Raised on a farm in Cedar City, she attended Southern Utah State College, earned a BA in English from Brigham Young University, and a Master’s degree from the University of Utah.

Laura spent most of her adult years in Salt Lake City where she and her husband of forty years raised three sons, Stat, Aaron, and Jared. Laura also worked as an English instructor during that time. Though she is now "retired" in Ivins, she writes, travels, enjoys outdoor recreation, and teaches English at Dixie College. She loves her family and friends.
