A hilariously charming celebration of the spirit of creativity and ingenuity that lives in the heart of every child, young and old.
2019 Green Earth Book Awards - Short List
From leaky tires, to old wood, to pipes no longer piping, to motors no longer motoring, and a pack of gum with almost half the sticks left, Sylvia Samantha White is very good at finding junk. WHY?! ask her parents, brother, and neighbors. Sylvia doesn't know exactly what all her "junk" is good for, but she's working on something, and as old Ezekiel Mather says, sometimes the part before you know is the best part.
When a completely ridiculous disaster strikes, Sylvia Samantha Wright springs into action and uses her junk to create solutions to the town's troubles--it turns out that if you have a pile of pipes, some motors connected to nothing at all, and a whole loft of paint cans, you can do some pretty darn amazing things.
