Johnny Waldorf ran away at sixteen to a successful career in journalism, but the Virginia City of the 1870's remained the backdrop to his life and he remembered it with fond vigor. His recollections of those turbulent years first appeared in the pages of the San Francisco Bulletin. They are republished here with an introduction and editorial commentary by his daughter, who has enriched her father's rememberings with original research. "A Kid on the Comstock" captures forever the essence of those brief, bright vanished days. Included are illustrations, photographs, endnotes, a bibliography, and an index. This copy is clean and solid.
