KINGDOM GROWTH THROUGH MISSIONAL BEHAVIOR: Growing a Relational Congregation

This recount of practical experience, psychological and theological wisdom is made available to the neophyte and to the experienced worker in God's vineyard in a way that will be easy and useful to follow. There is a missional reality that supports a lifestyle! Essentially, a missional reality coalesces around a personalized grasp of scripture that offers a theological shift, a sociological direction, and a distinct lifestyle for believers. The missional mindset is placed in the context of viewing the Cross through the Empty Tomb, seeing culture as a vehicle of communication, the church as a force to work with, not of a field in which to work, because the community and the world is a mission field ready for harvest.

What is the Missionary Mindset? What does a missionary know and how do they feel about the lost world? They know beyond a doubt they have been called to serve outside their comfort zone. Kingdom Growth through Missional Behavior is adopting the thinking, behaviors, and practices of a missionary in order to establish and globalize the message of Grace.

The scriptural foundation stones for this work were found in Thessalonians, Paul's first letters to a new congregation. A pristine congregation was planted that was unspoiled, a gathering of believers who belonged to the Lord. While on his way to Corinth, Paul sent Timothy back to check on the condition and growth of the new believers.

Hollis L. Green, ThD, PhD, DLitt, is a Clergy-Educator with public relations and business credentials and doctorates in theology, philosophy, and education. A Distinguished Professor of Education and Social Change at the graduate level for over four decades, Dr. Green is a Diplomate in the Oxford Society of Scholars, and author of 50+ books and numerous articles. He served six years as a member of the U.S. Senate Business Advisory Board and with certified membership in several public relations societies (RPRC, PRSA, and IPRC). He served pastorates in five states, a Military Chaplain during the Vietnam era, a denominational official for 18 years, and traveled in ministry and lectured in over 100 countries. Dr. Green was the founder (1974) of Associated Institutional Developers (AID) Ltd., an international Public Relations and Corporate Consultant Company. He was Vice-President (1974-1979) of Luther Rice Seminary (www.lru.edu) and became the founding President (1981) and Chancellor (1991-2008) of Oxford Graduate School, [www.ogs.edu]. As part of a global outreach, Dr. Green founded OASIS UNIVERSITY (2002) in Trinidad, W. I. [www.oasisgradedu.org] where continues to serve as Chancellor. In 2004, he assisted in establishing Greenleaf Global Educational Foundation in Colorado to advance issues related to the current needs of education. In addition to his other endeavors, Dr. Green launched Global Educational Advance, Inc. (2007) [www.gea-books.com] to advance higher education and social change through publishing, curriculum development, library/ learning resources, instruction, and global book distribution with 30,000 distributors in 100 countries to advance social change. His books and assisting authors in publishing are a logical outgrowth of a sixty-year ministry through education. He serves the Author-Publisher Partnership PRESS as Corporate Chair and Co-publisher with his sons, Barton and Brian. Dr. Green continues to travel, speak, teach, write books and work with authors in publishing as his health permits.

E .Basil Jackson, MD, ThD, PhD, DSc, DLitt, is a Distinguished Professor of Psychiatry, Medicine and Law. He was born and raised in Ireland and received his preliminary education there. Dr. Jackson is a respected academic with multiple doctorates from major universities. As such, he has made significant impact in the field of integration of religion and society. A well-traveled man, skilled in several languages, Jackson has ministered to both the physical and spiritual needs of needy people around the globe. Dr. Jackson studied at the Queen's University of Belfast Medical School and shortly after graduation was appointed to a fellowship in psychiatry at the Menninger School of Psychiatry in Topeka, Kansas. After completion of training in Adult Psychiatry he entered the child psychiatry program at the University of Rochester in Rochester, New York. Shortly after completing training as a pediatric psychiatrist, he was appointed Director of Graduate Psychiatric Education at Marquette University School of Medicine in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Jackson has been certified in Psychiatry, Child Psychiatry and Forensic Psychiatry and completed training and certification as a psychoanalyst and also as an addictionologist. He has practiced these disciplines all of his professional life. Dr. Jackson has also earned graduate degrees in theology and in law and is a member of the Bar of the State of Wisconsin. Presently he continues to consult in the field of law and psychiatry, but his principal interest lies in the integration of faith and society.
