"Kittitas County lies in the geographical center of the State of Washington. The central and southern part of the county is made up almost entirely of the great Kittitas Valley, the first considerable tract of agricultural land east of the Cascade Mountains on the line of the Chicago, Milwaukee & Puget Sound Railway." Designed to attract investment in Kittitas, this informational pamphlet was issued shortly after the opening of the "Pacific Extension" or the Chicago, Milwaukee and Puget Sound Railway, which ran from the Missouri River to Seattle and Tacoma. It describes in detail the region s resources and industries and includes testimonials from local farmers and a series of frequently asked questions, which address everything from irrigation and the price of land to fruit crops and transportation. Pamphlet, printed in black on both sides of a 28" x 18" sheet of white stock that folds to 4" x 9" (28 panels). Features 8 photographic illustrations and a map. Light soiling to the two outer panels; else very good or better. Scarce, OCLC locates only one holding, at the University of Idaho.
