WITH: "The Shingarev diary. A. I. Shingarev. How it was: The Peter and Paul Fortress 27-XI-17 - 5-I-18 . Translated by Felicity Ashbee and Irina Tidmarsh." ([Royal Oak, Michigan]: Strathcona Publishing Co., 1978). A Russian physician, politician, and reformer, Shingarev was imprisoned in the Peter and Paul Fortress from November 27, 1917, until January 5, 1918, the period covered by this diary. On January 5, Shingarev and Fedor Fedorovich Kokoshkin were moved from the prison to the hospital where they were murdered early the next morning. Seller Inventory # 004513
