उस्ताद उफुक़ बरारी की शायरी की तारीफ करना सूरज को चराग़ दिखाने जैसा है। उनका पहला शेरी मजमुआ उर्दू में "बाम ए उफुक़" के नाम से छप चुका है। इस ग़ज़ल संग्रह में जिसका नाम "कलाम ए उफुक़ बरारी" है जिस में ऐसी ही ग़ज़लों का इंतेखाब किया गया है जो आम फहम हों और इन ग़ज़लों से ऐसे ही अशआर चूने गये हैं जो आसानी से समझ में आ जाएं। मैंने ये ग़ज़ल संग्रह तरतीब देकर अपने उस्ताद का हक़ अदा करने की नाकाम कोशिश की है। मुझे उम्मीद है के इस का एक-एक शेर सुनने वालों को सर धुन्ने पर मजबूर कर देगा। बस उफुक़ बरारी साहब के दो अशआर पर उफुक़ साहब की बात पूरी करता हूं,
'बुलाया प्यार से लेकिन कोई नहीं आया
खुदा को हो गए प्यारे तो फिर सभी आए।'
'पढ़ेगा कौन हमें देखना पसंद नहीं,
के जाहिलों में रहें हम किताब हो कर भी।'
