About the Author

Lex Opdam has been teaching Goju-ryu Karate- do as a black belt since 1988. After several years of experience as a teacher in karate, and working as a self-defence and fitness instructor, he joined the police force and is now a full time police instructor in the Netherlands. Lex Opdam received the title and rank of Renshi, Rokudan, Sixth degree black belt, by his teacher and Karate pioneer Sensei Anthony Mirakian.
