Large octavo; publisher's printed burlap cloth; 60 numbered verso pages of text a "condensation" of the text with Gellert's black and white lithographic interpretations to facing rectos. A chip and some fraying to tail of spine with splitting at top and bottom of front joint; toning to edges. Binding sound. Very Good overall. Hugo Gellert was a Hungarian-American illustrator, muralist, and committed radical, providingillustrations for Elore, The Liberator, The New Masses, and The New Yorker, though his interpretation of Capital remains a high point of his creative expression as well as early 20th-century political radicalism.
