Nicknamed “Captain Peril” by his daughters, author B. Alan Goetz uses what he calls Karma Slaps or the painful lessons in life we experience to learn and grow. From choosing the wrong career three times to having more animals than humans in his house, Alan has made more errors than humanly possible in one lifetime, yet lives to tell the tale.

B. Alan Goetz, R.N. is an author who experienced many of the challenges that occur in life:  the confusion of parenthood, health issues, financial difficulties, fear of an unknown future, unfulfilling career choices, overwork, perpetual stress and the sense of hopelessness that accompanies these situations.

Over the years, Alan came to realize that life does not have to be as hard as we make it and many of our difficulties are created by the choices we make.  But it's not all bad.  If we give ourselves a chance to turn our lives around one situation at a time, listen to our intuition and focus on what makes us unique, happy individuals, we will emerge with a sense of purpose that aligns with our unique gifts.  Based on his experiences and the willingness to share them, Alan understands this intimately.  His teaching style encourages each person find their own individual path to happiness and self-fulfillment.

His first book, "Karma Slap - Using Life's Lessons to Move Forward" was released in August, 2013 and is based on the understanding that the painful situations or "Karma Slaps" we experience are really a wakeup call.  They may hurt, but they're nothing more than lessons we put ourselves through to alter the course of our lives for the better.
