A charming colouring book by Kate Greenaway, produced for children to paint their pages.Illustrated with a colour frontispiece, thirteen colour illustrations, and monochrome illustrations.A clean copy with only two of the illustrations having been hand-painted by a prior owner.Greenaway was a Victorian artist, well beloved for her children's book illustrations, produced in the Golden Age of book illustration. Most of her drawings depiction Queen Anne style costume, an imaginary eighteenth century style rather than Victorian.The second Warne edition, with the follow issue points as per 'Printed Kate Greenaway: A Catalogue Raisonne'. The titles advertised to the rear board are 'Under the Window', 'Marigola Garden', 'The Pied Piper of Hamelin', 'Little Ann and Other Poems', and 'Kate Greenaway's Birthday Book'. The publisher's New York address is listed as 12 East 33rd Street, without LTD in the imprint. Undated, dated from Jisc from a copy held at the Victoria and Albert Museum. In the original publisher's paper covered boards. Externally, smart. Light rubbing to the spine and extremities. Ink note to the front board. Light marks to the boards. Discolouration to the vignette to the front board. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with a few spots. Two illustrations have been hand-painted by a prior owner. Very Good.
