Tate, on front endpaper. Tate was a newspaper publisher in Berwick and Wilkes-Barre, PA. Boards have heavy wear and moderate soiling; head of spine has moderate chipping; text block has moderate foxing throughout. Amos Kendall was Postmaster General under Andrew Jackson from 1835 to 1840, and wrote one of the first biographies on Jackson. He published "Kendall's Expositor" biweekly from 1841-1844 which was pro-democrat and anti-Whig.
