Kenneth Clark

The author made his name as a scholar of Leonardo da Vinci by a critical catalogue of Leonardo's drawings in 1935, which was recognised as establishing the subject on a firmer chronological basis. Four years later he produced this title on Leonardo as an artist, which has been generally regarded as the clearest introduction to this controversial subject. This book provides a fresh look at one of Europe's greatest artists with this special 1958 edition having extensive revisions to the text. With 64 illustrated plates included (from countryhouse library site). Good condition. No highlighting or other notes. The usual Penguin tanning.
