1951. No Edition Remarks. Unpaginated. Pictorial dust jacket over red cloth. Black and white photographs throughout. Ex-Libris plate stuck to front pastedown. Binding remains firm. Pages and photographs have light tanning and foxing throughout. Boards have light shelf-wear with corner bumping. Slight crushing to spine ends. Light sunning to edges. Unclipped jacket has moderate edgewear with chips, tears, and creasing. Tape to edges. Light tanning to spine and edges. Water staining to inside panels. Wear marks overall. Hardcover. Condition: Good. 1st Edition. Red cloth 4to, unnumbered pages. Illustrated with black and white photographs. A photographic record year by year of the part Kent played in the second world war showing the damage suffered in bombing raids, the fortitude and contribution by ordinary Kent citizens as well as members of the armed forces, significant sites and personnel, and much more. The remnants of the dustwrapper - the cover and two sleeves but no spine ( all rather worn ) are loosely inserted. Also loosely inserted is a typed letter on the Kent Messenger headed paper dated 1950 to a Mr H Hooper of Sevenoaks asking that he review a copy of the book " Kent - Our Glorious Heritage " in the Sevenoaks News. It is signed by the author of Kent Unconquered, H R Pratt Boorman, who was the editor and proprietorof the Kent Messenger ( letter foxed, a little edge damage ). Cloth clean and sound but spine and gilt title sunned and somewhat faded, although title is legible. Creasing to top edge of rear cover adjacent to spine. Contents clean and tight. At least Good copy of a scarce Kent book. Heavy book weighing c 1350g when packed, and thus extra postage ( at cost ) will be requested to cover shortfall from default postage quotation for 1000g for UK first class mailing ( 2nd class UK not affected ) and overseas orders.
