JD Buchmiller was born on January 19 and raised in Southern California. She became an Army Wife in December 2013, moved to Anchorage, Alaska in March 2014, and then moved again to Hinesville, Georgia in September 2014, where she is currently located. She is studying Criminal Justice and Screenwriting at Southern New Hampshire University, and hopes to be a full-time prosecutor and a part-time Hollywood Screenwriter.Janelle discovered her passion for writing when she was in fourth grade, but didn't start writing The Rose Tree Chronicles until her freshman year of high school, where she actually began writing the 7th book of the series without the intent of making a series. When she finally decided that she wanted to make the story part of The Rose Tree Chronicles, she realized that the timeline she came up with in her head put her current book as number seven in the series. So she set the rough draft aside to begin construction on "Follow," in her sophomore year of high school.
