The Key of Silence

V lives a life less ordinary. For one, she lives in a rented home with a pixie and shape shifter. And for some strange reason, her mother insists she goes to an all-boys school disguise as a boy. Just as things seem to be settling down, her crush, who has the ability to control machines with his mind, invites her to join him during the school break onboard Quark City, a giant space city that travels around the galaxy. Expecting an epic journey of romance, she ends up being pulled into something sinister brewing there. It begins to the disappearance of a nurse, and ends in two murders, the town mayor, and surprisingly Quark City’s resident super villain Dr. Dreary. It appears that she has deeper connection with the city than she knew, due to her mother’s mysterious past with some of Quark’s most important denizens. All this is just the beginning. It’s sort of a welcome back home for V, from the sinister forces lurking behind the city’s secrets.

Chris. W.K. has had a bit of experience in writing. He has worked with as journalist, as well as an editor for a local magazine. An avid reader he would read anything ranging from fantasy to science fiction. Also an ardent fan of independent animation works, especially genres like webcomics. Currently studying a master's degree in English Literature to have a deeper understanding on the elements of what makes a good story and the effect of literature on popular culture. He firmly believes that a story that catches attention of the masses is not just a good story but one written with passion, perseverance and discipline. This is his first work.
