The plot is based on the historical record of the Pharaoh Akhenaten period of ancient Egypt with fictional modern characters chosen to draw the reader into this suspense-filled journey.

The authors, Grant and J.D. Henning, are a father-and-son team who collaborated in the research, writing, and art work. Grant is a retired professor of applied linguistics and measurement statistics. J.D. is a former U.S. Coast Guard intelligence officer with an MBA in logistics. Grant has numerous other publications in language assessment and equities trading. Both have resided about 14 years together in Egypt and Iran.
