50 pages. 8-1/2 by 11 inches. Original playscript. The text is reproduced from typescript; the title page is typeset. According to the New York Times review, the play opened on Nov. 17; this script is dated 2 November 1972. The play opened at the American Place Theater in New York and, according to Coover's CV on the Brown University website, it has been performed many times all over the world. It won three Obie awards for its initial run. A very uncommon original playscript, with only one copy in OCLC (University of South Carolina). The play was included in Coover's book A Theological Position (May 1972). This version of the play likely dates from the beginning of previews. A comparison of this script with the one published in A Theological Position would show whether the text was revised during rehearsals. Rear cover faded at the edges, else fine in brad-bound wrappers, as issued. Seller Inventory # 191307
