Kid Tea

Monday, fun day, mud-pies-in-the-sun day. What do you get when you dunk two muddy kids in a bathtub full of clean water? Kid Tea! The water in the tub changes color to match the food the brother and sister ate or the things they played with during the day. Brown for mud, purple for popsicles—a different color of "kid tea" for each day of the week! Kids will enjoy the repetitive, sing-song text: "Dunk me in the tub, please, for blue kid tea!" Glin Dibley’s playful art rendered in acrylic, color pencil, and digital techniques lends a hand in helping children learn about colors and the days of the week.

Author Elizabeth Ficocelli has written for school publications, local newspapers, and advertising agencies. She is also the author of a number of books and magazine articles for children and adults. Elizabeth and her husband watch their four boys make kid tea every night in their house in Columbus, Ohio.

Illustrator Glin Dibley lives in Huntington Beach, California, where he surfs when he’s not drawing and painting children’s books. He illustrated the books Tub-boo-boo, Don’t Laugh at Me, Made for a Purpose, and It’s a Bad Day, as well as book covers for kids and young adults, including The Million Dollar series. Glin has a wife and two daughters who love to take baths. He feels he’s too BIG for baths and takes showers now.
