Kids Can Be Aware: Creative Lessons for Teaching Kids About Ecology

Hands-on activities and theme-related experiences are the methods used in this book to teach students ecological concepts and help them connect the present to the future. Through creative activities such as science experiments, art projects, role play and games, students discover rain forest, desert, prairie and mountain habitats and the plants and animals which live in them.

Students will enjoy turning corners of the classroom into different habitats, collecting natural items such as feathers and old nests, using patterns to make toucans and monkeys, playing animal hide-and-seek, making rainbow crayons and many more fun activities.

Even the snacks students eat, such as ocean in a glass, will help them discover something about habitats.

Also included in the book are resource lists and reproducible worksheets as well as patterns for making flowers, birds and animals.

Students will agree that learning about ecology was never so much fun!
